Appeal to all those who care. Chornobyl bazaar benefit
On April 26, 2006, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations is organizing in the United Nations Headquarters the Chornobyl Charity Bazaar to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy, the largest in scope and the gravest in consequences technological catastrophe of the twentieth century.
The purpose of this endeavor is not only to mobilize additional funds to support the medical institutions in Ukraine, which provide treatment for the children from the Chornobyl zone, but also to renew the international attention to the problems of Chornobyl.
Participation of the Ukrainian community in this important event has already become a good tradition. We are very grateful to all our friends for their fruitful cooperation demonstrated in the past, and we hope that it will continue this year. Each of you can make individual contribution to the charity event in the form of various books, crafts, arts, gift items, food, beverages and other stuff which will be exhibited for sale during the bazaar, as well as payment checks for any amount.
Those who wish to take part in the Chornobyl Charity Bazaar, please send your donations to the Permanent Mission of Ukraine (220 East 51st Street, New York, NY, 10022). If you send a check, please indicate that the payment is made to the Permanent Mission of Ukraine for the Chornobyl Bazaar. We would also like to invite you to provide brief information about yourself, so that the list of benefactors is properly presented to all guests and participants of this event in the United Nations. Please notify the Permanent Mission of Ukraine (tel. (212) 759-7003 (ext. 100) about your intention to attend our joint event by April 21, so that appropriate arrangements for receiving a pass to the UN building could be made in a timely manner.

ЗВЕРНЕННЯ ДО ВСІХ НЕБАЙДУЖИХ
26 квітня 2006 року Постійне представництво України при ООН проводить у штаб-квартирі ООН благодійний Чорнобильський базар, присвячений 20-й річниці Чорнобильської трагедії, найбільшої за масштабами та найстрашнішої за наслідками техногенної катастрофи ХХ століття.
Мета цього заходу - не лише зібрати нові кошти для допомоги медичним закладам в Україні, де лікують дітей з Чорнобильської зони, а й ще раз привернути увагу міжнародного співтовариства до проблем Чорнобиля.
Участь української громади у цьому важливому заході вже стала доброю традицією. Ми дуже вдячні всім нашим друзям за плідну співпрацю в минулому і сподіваємося на її продовження у цьому році. Кожен з вас може зробити свій посильний внесок у цю благодійну акцію. Це можуть бути як різні сувеніри, книжки, продукти, напої та товари широкого вжитку, які будуть виставлені на продаж під час базару, так і чек на будь-яку суму.
Всіх, хто матиме бажання взяти участь у Чорнобильському базарі, просимо направляти свої пожертви на адресу Місії України при ООН (220 East 51st Street, New York, NY 10022). Якщо ви надсилатимете чек, вкажіть, будь ласка, що він призначений для Постійного представництва України при ООН на потреби Чорнобильського базару. Дуже просимо також залишати коротку інформацію про себе, щоб ми могли найбільш повно представити всім гостям і учасникам цієї події в ООН список благодійників. Про свій намір особисто відвідати нашу спільну акцію просимо повідомити Постійне представництво (за тел. (212) 759 7003 ext. 100) до 21 квітня, з тим, щоб ми змогли вчасно замовити для кожного перепустку в ООН.
