Ukraine's Ambassador Shamshur presented credentials to U.S. President Bush

Washington, DC (March 13, 2006) — Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the United States Dr. Oleh Shamshur presented his letter of credence and a letter of recall of his predecessor to the US President George W. Bush.
In his reply to the remarks presented, as per protocol, to the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine, President George Bush notes "The United States remains optimistic about Ukraine's future and looks to Ukraine to be a model for democratic development for its neighbors and beyond". He also expressed an expectation for "working with a new government that will maintain Ukraine's momentum on democratization and reform".
"Even as Ukraine faces significant challenges, it has an historic opportunity to consolidate and expand the changes that will make Ukraine a democratic, prosperous member of Europe and of the international community", the document says.

ПОСОЛ УКРАЇНИ В США ОЛЕГ ШАМШУР ВРУЧИВ ПРЕЗИДЕНТУ США ДЖОРДЖУ БУШУ ВІРЧІ ГРАМОТИ
13 березня 2006 року Надзвичайний та Повноважний Посол України в США Олег Шамшур вручив Президенту Сполучених Штатів Америки Джорджу Бушу вірчі грамоти.
У своєму зверненні, яке згідно з протоколом країни перебування передається Президентом новопризначеному Послу у вигляді ремарок, Президент США Дж.Буш відзначив, що "Сполучені Штати оптимістично ставляться до майбутнього України та сподіваються, що Україна стане моделлю демократичного розвитку для сусідніх та віддалених держав", а також висловив сподівання США на "співпрацю з новим Урядом, який буде продовжувати курс України на демократизацію та реформи".
"Хоча Україна стоїть перед серйозними викликами, вона має історичну можливість консолідувати та поширити зміни, які зроблять Україну демократичним, процвітаючим членом Європи та світової спільноти", - підкреслив Президент.
