Greetings to the Ukrainian Diaspora on Independence Day

On behalf of the Ukrainian diplomats to the United Nations, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the fourteenth anniversary of the great holiday of the people of Ukraine - Independence Day.
Ukraine is entering a new stage of its statehood at the height of dramatic internal political, economic and social changes that are being implemented by the people's President - Victor Yushchenko.
Today, Ukraine attracts special attention around the world. The triumph of the truth, people's will and democracy in our State has won respect and sympathy on all continents. The attitude towards Ukraine as a democratic and respected international player is being witnessed by us, the diplomats in the United Nations, as well as by our colleagues – in exchanges with the European Union, NATO and World Trade Organization, and in relations with many countries of the world.
However, enhancing Ukraine's internal and external existence, resurrection of the national strength and spirit are inconceivable and impossible without the help and support of the Ukrainian hearts and minds residing beyond the borders of their Motherland.
Thus, in congratulating you on this most important state holiday, I would like to express my words of gratitude for your consistent attention to the work of Ukrainian diplomats in the UN, for your practical assistance and wise advice. I am confident that our fruitful and close cooperation will continue to successfully facilitate the achievement of our common goal - further consolidation of the Ukrainian state in the world.
I sincerely wish you and your families good health, happiness and well-being. May all of your plans and good intentions be realized. May confidence and faith in a better future be with you.

з нагоди Чотирнадцятої річниці Незалежності України
Дорогі друзі,
Від імені українських дипломатів в Організації Об'єднаних Націй зі щирого серця вітаю вас з Чотирнадцятою річницею великого свята українського народу - Дня Незалежності.
Новий етап своєї державності Україна зустрічає на хвилі кардинальних політичних, економічних і соціальних внутрішньодержавних перемін, що нині здійснюються народним Президентом Віктором Ющенком.
Сьогодні до України привернена особлива увага світу. Перемога в нашій державі правди, волі нації і демократії викликала повагу та симпатію до неї на всіх континентах. Ставлення до України як до демократичного, шанованого учасника міжнародного життя відчуваємо і ми, дипломати в ООН, і наші колеги - у контактах з Європейським Союзом, НАТО і Світовою організацією торгівлі, у взаєминах з багатьма державами світу.
Втім, піднесення у внутрішньому і зовнішньому житті України, воскресіння національної сили і духу немислиме і неможливе без допомоги та підтримки українських рук і сердець поза межами Батьківщини.
Тож, вітаючи вас з найважливішим державним святом, хочу виголосити слова вдячності за вашу незмінну увагу до діяльності українських дипломатів в ООН, за дієву допомогу і за мудру пораду. Впевнений, що наша плідна співпраця і тісна взаємодія й надалі з успіхом сприятимуть досягненню нашої спільної мети - щоміцнішому утвердженню Української держави у світі.
Сердечно бажаю вам і вашим родинам міцного здоров'я, щастя і добра. Неодмінного справдження задумів і планів. Впевненості і віри у кращому майбутті.
