Ukraine's Election: Next Steps (Hearing of the House International Relations Committee)
Summary:
Key speaker Senator Richard Lugar (Chair Senate Foreign Relations Committe) outlined
to the committee gross irregularities in the second round of voting on November 21st in Ukraine.
Lugar is nevertheless hopeful that election reforms will be implemented.
However, in the renactment of the second round of voting on
December 26th Lugar says that Washington
needs to provide money and additional monitors, because there are no guarantees it won't
be just as riddled with abuses as the first.
