Famine (Holodomor) Commemoration

Dear countrymen!
Today's gathering is the most important opportunity to commemorate the memory of millions of Ukrainians who lost their lives on the brutal altar of the Soviet regime.
The history of Ukraine is full of wounds that do not heal, and victims that are not forgotten. This pain does not pass, but grows even greater over the years, just as the truth that unfolds before us about how cruel Ukraine's fate was during the Stalin regime.
The establishment of a free Ukrainian state - the dream of many generations of our forefathers - which is developing on the foundations of fairness, freedom and democracy, is a strong guarantee against a repetition of such tragic events on our lands. Release from the bondage of a totalitarian soviet system uncovered the limitless potential of our nation, which became the mainspring of the indisputable success of our country today, strengthening its power and independence.
The Ukrainian nation will feel the irreparable consequences of the Holodomor (Famine) of 1932-33 for a long time to come. We should also not forget the tragic dates of the 1921-23 and 1946-47 famines. Respect for our history, without which spiritual growth is impossible, should become not only a matter for researchers and historians, but for the entire Ukrainian nation.
The bells of the past toll in the heart of Ukraine and are supposed to be heard across all nations in the world today - as a debt to those who perished, and a reminder to the living.
To the eternal memory of the dead (vichna pamiat). May famines never be repeated, and may they never be forgotten. Let them remain in our hearts as a memory of the dead, as a reminder of its undefeated strength and the pain that our nation endured.

у пам'ять жертв Голодомору

Дорогі співвітчизники!
Сьогоднішнє зібрання є ще однією важливою нагодою вшанувати пам"ять мільйонів українців, які склали своє життя на жорстокий вівтар тоталітарного радянського режиму.
В історії української нації є рани, які не загоюються, і жертви, які не забуваються. Цей біль не проходить, але стає ще більшим з роками, в міру того, як ми відкриваємо для себе правду - наскільки жорсткою була доля України в страшний період сталінського режиму.
Створення власної, омріяної багатьма поколіннями наших пращурів, Української держави, яка розбудовується на засадах справедливості, свободи і демократії, є міцною гарантією неповторення на нашій землі цих трагічних подій. Звільнення з ярма тоталітарної радянської системи розкрило безмежний потенціал нашого народу, який став головним джерелом нинішніх неспростованих успіхів нашої держави, зміцнення її могутності і незалежності.
Український народ ще довго відчуватиме непоправні наслідки Голодомору 1932-1933 років. Ми також не повинні забувати про трагічні дати голодоморів 1921-1923 та 1946-1947 років. Ушанування власної історії має стати не тільки справою дослідників та істориків, але й усього українського народу, без чого неможливе його духовне зростання.
Дзвони трагедій минулого б"ють у серці України і мають бути почуті в усіх країнах сучасного світу. Як борг перед загиблими, як нагадування живим.
Вічна пам"ять загиблим. Нехай голодомори ніколи не повторяться, але й ніколи не забудуться. Нехай вони залишаються в наших серцях як данина пам"яті загиблим, як нагадування про біль, пережитий нашим народом, і про його нескорену силу.
