Фотограф Таня Михайлишин-Д'Авіньйон, американка українського походження, останнім часом проживає більше в Києві, ніж в своєму Нютоні, штат Масачусетс (США), невгамонно і завзято намагалася осягнути своєї мети - створити фотоальбом про "її" Україну. З фотоапаратом в руках більш ніж 30 років, в нелегких обставинах, вона зуміла побачити майже всі куточки України. Її відвертість і комунікабельність приваблює усіх, хто має нагоду трапитись на її шляху. Це видно у всіх її портретах; вона бачить Україну очима художника. Кожне її фото стає мистецьким твором.

Фотографії Тані Д'Авіньйон є надруковані в 70-ти книжках, багатьох журналах і газетах США, Канади і України. Вона мала понад 50 персональних фотовиставок в США, Канаді, Україні, Польщі і Білорусії. У 1998 її фотоальбом "Просто Україна" був визнаний найкращою книжкою року в Україні, а в 1999 році була серед фіналістів на здобуття Національної Премії ім. Т.Г. Шевченка в галузі журналістики.

The photograher, Tania Mychajlyshyn-D'Avignon, is an American of Ukrainian birth, lately residing more in Kyiv, Ukraine, than in her hometown of Newton, Massachusetts, and USA. With camera in hand for over 30 years, she has relentlessly pursued her goal of publishing an album about "her" Ukraine. Her candor and adaptability endear her to everyone she meets and is reflected in all of her portraits. She sees Ukraine through the eyes of an artist. Each photo is a work of art.

Since 1990, Tania has frequently visited Ukraine covering ethnic environmental and social issues as well as political events. Tania's photographs have been published in over 70 books, magazines, and newspapers in the US, Canada and Ukraine, Poland and Belarus. In 1998 her photo album Simply Ukraine was published and received the Best Book of the Year Award, in Ukraine. In 1999, she was a semi-finalist for the Shevchenko Prize in Journalism in Ukraine for Simply Ukraine. Currently she is working on her fifth calendar and A Book of Days.
