New Personnel Changes In Ukrainian Government

On January 27, 1999 President Leonid Kuchma made new personal changes among the members of the Cabinet of Ministers as a part of the administrative reform currently underway in Ukraine.

Mr. Andriy Honcharuk, 38, would replace Mr. Serhiy Osyka as the Minister for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. Until now Mr. Honcharuk worked as the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. Upon graduation in 1983 from Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University where he majored in foreign economic relations, he worked at the Institute of Social and Economic Problems of Foreign Countries.

Mr. Kostiantyn Petrov replaced Mr. Honcharuk as the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade while Mr. Serhiy Osyka was appointed to the position of the Deputy Minister for Economy. Mr. Leonid Rossylniy, former head of State Joint-Stock Company "Ukrresursy" become another Deputy Minister for Economy. Mr. Viktor Rzhotkevych replaced Mr. Rossylniy at the "Ukrresursy" Company.

President L. Kuchma also named Ms. Raissa Bohatyriova, 45, a new Minister for Health Protection replacing former minister Andriy Serdiuk. Ms. R. Bohatyriova graduated from Kharkiv Medical School and Department of Law, Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University. She worked as Deputy and later First Deputy Minister for Health Protection. In 1990, Ms. R. Bohatyriova was elected to Ukrainian parliament of 12th convocation.
