On Sunday February 7, 1999, readers of the New York Times
in Westchester County were treated to a front page special
feature in section 14 devoted to websites about the area.
The background image used in the article was the website of our
very own Yonkers Ukrainian Heritage Festival. Short reviews
of a number of other websites were offered, and below the image we include
the quotes referencing the Yonkers Festival site. Unfortunately,
the author, Nick Ravo, took a snapshot of the homepage before it was
updated, so the year that appears in the image is "1998."
Nevertheless, we are grateful for the attention given our
site, and we invite everyone to visit and find
out personally about the June event. GO Yonkers!

"Where, Oh Where On the Web …
by Nick Ravo"
"Sex, Money, Food, News Real Estate, Thomas Paine, Ukrainian festivals, Pomeranians. You name the subject - you can almost certainly find a Web site."
"... [the article continues, only the relevant quote is exerpted here]
The Ukrainian Heritage Festival
can be found at (www.brama.com/yonkersukrainianfest) offers
information on the annual festival in Yonkers, including
photographs of traditional cuisine like the dumplings called
varennyky."
