BBC Ukraine named Voroshilovgrad BBC Book of the Year in 2010 and BBC Book of the Decade in 2014. Mr. Zhadan is a poet, novelist, musician from Kharkiv, Ukraine. An activist who has become a voice of Ukraine's "Euro-Maidan" movement, he has been vocal about finding solutions that make Ukraine a safe space for Russian and Ukrainian speakers.
