Hi Natalie,
The markets and department stores are probably the best places. Market stuff is cheap but not always of the best quality whilst department stores have less fashionable stuff, the best of which seems to be made in Ukraine itself. Otherwise, flashy western shops are very expensive. Try Svyatoshynskyy or Volodymyrskyy markets.
