I searched at least 10 different air ticket web sites, I called at least four different airlines, and I spoke to four different travel agents. I think that $1058 for a flight between Jackson, Mississippi and Kiev in June, the height of the travel season to Europe, is as good a fare as anyone is going to find. As indicated in my previous post, the reservation I bought for travel on May 22 and June 26 is on two tickets. The portion of the ticket between Washington, DC (the gateway city on this itinerary) and Jackson is $225. The portion of the ticket from Washington, DC to Kiev and back is on Austrian Airlines (with the flight from Kiev to Vienna on Ukrainian International). This portion of the itinerary is only $610 including all taxes and fees. I think that from America to Kiev and back on Austrian Airlines at the peak of the summer travel season to Europe is quite good.
However, just decide for yourself. Give Ludmilla a call at 1-800-995-5555. She agreed to take my travel dates and cities and then call me back when she had found the best deal. The only thing calling her will cost you is a little of your time.
