not prepare for what is really important, as we find out mostly afterwards. So by all means go, even if you have the idea that you are not that much "prepared".

Apartment versus Hotel
If you research this board you will see that the general idea is to take an apartment. Cheaper and more comfort.

Hassles
There might be hassles. There might be no hassles. Anyway you need a good "back-up person" to assist you. A guide.

Visa
You already have the visa, so that is in order.

Entrance into Ukraine
Read this board and you will know. Search the archives. Absolutely damn quick and hassle free is the VIP service, but at a price!

Guide
Personally because of my experience with him I would advice Rostick. Again read opinions about him and the things he says himself here on the board. You can just email him and he will answer
But find out for yourself, you do not have to believe me.
You still have time to do some homework, but any questions arising, ask them.

Don't know at this moment about Kyiv - Kherson, but somebody will tell you.

Sincerely,
Hans

: Background: 40 year old, white male, from USA, only speak English. Mech Engineer, inexperienced in big city ways (just a country boy) I have met a woman through ________dating agency, We have been corresponding now several months. I have a tourist visa, it was obtained through “same” dating agency and will become effective 18 February. She seems sincere I don’t have any concerns there. What is bothering me is I made these grand plans to visit Alina end of Feburary, everything seemed in place, life was wonderful. Then while researching for my trip, I stumble into BRAMA’s travel tips and have just about decided not to go, I see how little I know and understand the customs, laws ect. of Ukraine. I dont mind paying a little more for safety and no hassle with the police. Am I better off in a hotel than apartment? I don’t see flights directly to Kherson. What is my best option for travel from Kiev to Kherson.
