however I can not understand how sending money to any country for that matter could be a hassle. The procedure is standarized all over the world.

You give the name of the recieving party and the country name and that's it. Whole procedure takes only 2 minutes. Here in Amsterdam anyway.
What happened your end exactly? Wouldn't want to point anyone in wrong direction, you know!

Other remarks very interesting, was just looking into Moneygram also yesterday. Will do ome more "research".

Sincerely

: I've sent money through Western Union and through MEEST.
: With Western Union, you must pay their exchange rate to send money in US dollars (not so good for Canadians and others), and the recipient receives the money in local currency (hrivnas).
: With MEEST, you can send money without the cost of exchange, in your local currency, if you like, and the recipient receives whatever kind of currency you like (preferably US dollars, of course). The cash (US bucks) is delivered right to their door.
: Also, MEEST agencies specialize in wiring money to Ukraine, and it's easy, whereas, I've found that sending money through Western Union is a hassle, because, if the agent isn't familiar with sending money to Ukraine, they don't know what they're doing.
: I would definitely recommend sending through MEEST.
