You may easily acquire a Private visa since you are amrried to a Ukrainian citizen, the period of validity is for 5 years, you must register every 6 months or leave the country and return, it is not expensive to register and you must also have health insurance, which is also not expensive because it is totally worthless, and is really just another small tax.

As long as you are NOT a permanent resident of Ukraine you will not be taxed on your world income only your Ukrainian income. Currently under US law you may not legally receive Social Security payments if you are in Ukraine, see the social security web site for details.

Don't worry after 6 months here, you will run away back to America!!!
