I used to routinely fly via Moscow with Aeroflot and never had a problem. I found their customer service comparable to any other airline I flew. I would routinely lay over in Moscow for a few hours before catching my flight to Kiev. I would have preferred coming directly to Simferopol but the schedules didn't match up and I would have had to stay overnight in Moscow and this would have required me to purchase a Russian visa. Contrary to what Mark wrote, you don't need a visa for a transfer in Moscow, they just keep you in the transfer area of the airport. Drop by when you get to town.
