don't forget you need a visa to Russia even for just a transfer. You'll likely end up staying overnight so you'll need to go from the airport to a nearby hotel. Aeroflot service in the past was very unreliable, if they didn't have their quota of passengers (likely in the winter), they'd just cancel the flight until the next day, you wouldn't know about it until 30 minutes before boarding. On the other hand, you also used to be able to hand the stewardess a 100 USD bill and smile and be put in first class :) The only advantage of Aeroflot is cost, but like most things in life you get what you pay for...
