: Just returned from from my first visit to Ukraine... and wish I were still in Kyiv. My visit was from 9 Dec.- 18 Dec. and I had absolutely zero problems. None with customs, none with police, and none with the military... which are everywhere. Customs at Boryspil were very kind & helpful actually. Some of you guys had me a bit worried with horror stories. I have been reading this site for almost a year and much of my information came from here. There is so much information on this site that I highly recommend anyone traveling to Ukraine to visit here often. My girlfriend lives in Ukraine (what else is new) and this was my first time to see her. Yep, I'm definitely going back to see her again... soon. The people of Kyiv are very polite & kind. My language skills were not the best, but I had tremendous help from my new friend Rostick. After reading this site for so long... I chose the service of Rostick to handle ALL of my requirements. I am not wealthy and his prices are not bad at all. He met me at Boryspil airport, took care of my Ukrainian Visa registration, had my excellent "western" style apartment ready & waiting... and checked on me several times a day to see how I was doing. His services as a translator were outstanding. His English is excellent. Being a former Marine and having seen much of the world already... I know the value of a very good translator. My Russian language is sad at best & my girlfriends English is... well, she is better with English than I am with Russian and Rostick was with us many times to bridge the communication gap. Looking into each others eyes only goes so far. I had business in Odessa for three days & Rostick took me to the airport... made the ticket purchase and made sure I was on the correct plane and was waiting for my return with taxi ready. I cannot say enough about Kyiv... truly a beautiful city... with wonderful people. I was very pleased to find out that Ukrainian food is excellent... and yes, there are many restaurants that are very affordable with delicious entres. Ten days is just not enough time to see & experience Kyiv. Next time I will stay longer. I am very glad that I read this site for so long... gave me great information and led me to an excellent choice in service... Rostick. As I mentioned before... I never once had a moments problem... Rostick gave excellent service (honest & very reliable)... I had a great visit... and I will return... soon. She is worth it.
