Sovjets never occupied Eastern Europa. I think I should refresh your memory. In 1941 the Germans attacked Sovjet Union. ( I think you do not know it) As Germany is located in East Europe, we, and other Sovjet people had to fight with them and in the end we came to the home country of Germans (At that time Ukrainians did not need visas to Germany:-)
And as Germans slaved other people of Eastern Europe, we have made the free of chains of bad German guys.
Now I think you do not have an enormous historical gap in your mind:-)
Missiles in Cuba, I think everybody has a right to defend its country. Just look what a friendly USA made with poor Iraq people. For centuries they were sent to poor.
Or maybe you know what happened in Yugoslavia? Until now it has not happened with Ukraine and only because we have Russia as a neighbor with missiles!
As for the speech of Khrustchev I do not know. But you must admit, I do not mean you. I think you are quite ok. But the majority of Americans are very arrogant and illiterate.
