Ukrainians are wonderful people, but not all of them. Many of them are rude. Belittling was part of the Soviet "culture". I have lived in Ukraine for most of my life, now I enjoy living in USA. And I do not feel like visiting Ukraine. I have lived in an apartment building in Ukraine. Once my neighbors on the first floor had relatives from USA visiting. One night "thugs" were knocking first on the door, then on the windows. Sure, they wanted the money. Not only foreigners get robbed, beaten and even murdered. Once I witnessed a police officer approached a table with "thugs" sitting at in a bar, shaking hands with each of them. And he was older than any of them. Jay does not spread fear among travelers, he just states a fact and gives a survival lesson. If some foreign men get beaten up, they could be disrespectful towards Ukrainians and thus had it coming. There are some foreigners who are taking advantage of gracious and welcoming Ukrainians.....
