This past summer when I visited Ukraine, I felt safer than when I have to travel in our major cities in the USA. In my home state, due to my job as a law enforcement officer, I am required to carry a fire arm at all times.
While traveling in Ukraine I was unarmed and accompanied at various times by my Ukraine Daughters. (My wife and I hosted several exchange students over the years from Ukraine.)
I felt safer there without my weapon than I do in Washington, DC and New York City when I am there on official business and armed.
Ukraine is a beautiful country occupied by wonderful people. Don't let the negative comments get you down.
