Why o why does this thread pop up every now and again. I have been to Ukraine many times, been to many places, I drove from the Uk to the Crimea, around the crimea in my UK registered car in my UK clothes and have never once, not once seen these mythogical 'men in black.
Americans why do you worry so much, why be so paranoid? Where ever you go in the world, we tourists stick out. In London for example the ice cream sellers and taxi drivers rub their hands together when they see you coming here goes the $10 ice cream cone.
I have visited many cities and towns and villages in Ukraine over the past two or three yaers, im going again for 6 weeks this summer, will I pack different clothes - no, will I stick out and be noticed - probably, will I be hassled - I have never been, then again I wasn't in New York, Washington, and many places in Black Africa in the 1970's and 80's.
Enjoy your holiday in Ukraine and stop worrying!
