Hello,
My wife and I still favor the use of a debit card to get cash from the "Bankamat machines" (ATM machines). We never pay with the card anywhere else.
We have a traveling account with a Visa debit card. We keep $35.00 DLLs there all the time. I always e-mail my bank to make money transfers from my main account to this account when we need to make a withdrawl. It costs a bit more but it is a lot safer this way. We have traveled all over the world with this system.
We also take some cash in a money belt and a crotch bag.
Good luck to you
