most dacha's will be pretty cold in the winter.The hot water/heating in the FSU is like a giant radiator, central station where the water is heated, and pumping stations through out the city.
No utilities out in the country! Bathroom out in the yard! You must be careful of carbon monoxide poisoning, heating your house. I know someone who died because of it.But lots of people live under those conditions, and I admire them for their endurance.
There is nothing that you can't overcome if you have the will! Good luck.
