If you are serious, you should consider buying a dacha near the dnepr. river and a car to get back and forth. I believe you could buy a dacha for around $1k-3k u.s. dollars and russian cars are cheap.
Start studying russian, maybe take the 6 mo. course when you get there. It won't take long before you are speaking.
