: Hi Natasha,

: I found this great link which has a great database for Russian and other countries of the Former Soviet Union recipes.

You are right, it is a great link. I found a lot of great recipes there. Thank you very much for your help.

: I hope you find what your looking for (Borsch is in the top 5 search queries). And yes if a soup is left for a day or more, the flavours infuse more.

: Cheers

: : : ....I hope your experience will allow you to develop some compassion for people who are not accustomed to having as much as you. I sorry to see that type of arrogance. Progress is relative, but I found the Ukrainian people to be highly civilized in the true sense of the word.
: : Speaking about Ukrainian food, does anyone on this board knows a recipe for vegetarian borshch? My mother used to make it with prunes and mushrooms but unfortunately, I lost the recipe. I remember she used to say that this soup tasted better the second day as the flavours married giving a unigue richness to the soup. Another name for it was "cold borshch". It is the best vegetarian dish I ever tasted in my life!
