The ingredients there are familiar to us, just a different kind of preparation, maybe.
When I last went to Moscow, my aunt asked me if I wanted to go to McDonald's. She thought that I was missing that essential bit of western food. YUK. They were one of the thousands of Muscovites that stood in line to get a taste of a Big Mac, and found it wanting.
I think McDonalds and Mars bars and all of the western imports there are not about better food, they're about status. Chocolates in the Ukraine are fabulous, far better than Hershey can manufacture.
