You have to have an open mind and be a bit more adventurous when visiting Ukraine. I have enjoyed everything put in front of me, just because it doesn't have the artificial colors that are injected into our food to make it look more palatable doesn't make it bad.
You should, at least, sample everything and then you'll find that it's not so bad afterall...and think about this during your stay in Ukraine your body, for that periuod of time, will not have to ingest all those chemicals we have come to accept here.
Were you as impressed with their McDonalds as I was. The staff are much more helpful, always smile, the premises very clean and the food tasty.

: I am sorry to disagree with most of you. But when I visited Lviv last time, I was so happy that McDonalds had finally opened. Along with GSM mobilephones and ATMs, this was to a sure sign of progress and civilisation. Lots of Ukrainian food has this colorless and shivery look. If you are so lucky to find a bread truck at 2.00 AM on your way home, you will get a soft bread which is grey inside. And the milk which comes in one flavour only has a strong smell of cow. But I do love Borsch and the small potato pancakes. Thank god for McDonalds.
