: : Has anyone ever taken a ferry to Istanbul from Odessa? How comfortable is it, even in second, third class rooms? How is the food? Any entertainment on-board?
: Oh well! I was hoping to see another answer to this question.
: We have never traveled Odessa-Istanbul, but my wife and I have taken the Yalta-Istanbul and the Kherson-Istanbul ferries. We never traveled first class. The food was excellent, both ferries have bar and disco club on board (how entertaining they can be, really depends on the passangers). We have only checked out the prices for the Odessa-Istanbul ferry, so we cannot tell you first hand the differences, but we think it is twice as expensive as the ones from Yalta and Kherson.
: Another issue, the more Russian you speak the better able you will be to enjoy such a trip
The rooms are comfortable, but you have to share the kayuta with a room mate; the showers are located in the hallway and they are shared by 10 rooms but they are private with a dressing room, and they always have hot water...
I hope this helps.
