I am sorry to disagree with most of you. But when I visited Lviv last time, I was so happy that McDonalds had finally opened. Along with GSM mobilephones and ATMs, this was to a sure sign of progress and civilisation. Lots of Ukrainian food has this colorless and shivery look. If you are so lucky to find a bread truck at 2.00 AM on your way home, you will get a soft bread which is grey inside. And the milk which comes in one flavour only has a strong smell of cow. But I do love Borsch and the small potato pancakes. Thank god for McDonalds.
