I, too, like their way of eating there. Many hours spent at a table, enjoying food, drink, and each other's conversation. Where the goal is not to gobble up the food as quickly as possible and go and watch TV!
In the summer, I especially love the mushrooms that we've picked. My favourite is fried mushrooms in sour cream. I also like the tomato and cucumber salads, and, yes, I appreciate that it's all organic. They were interested to know that I pay twice the price for organic produce at home! I always ask for fried potatoes when I'm there. They just taste better than they do here.My uncle begs for mercy, that maybe we could have one dinner without fried potatoes!
Dairy products, which I don't much care for at home, are so delicious that I eat lots of them. Tvorog and smetana with a little sugar on top mmm.
I always lose weight there, even though I don't exercise as much, and eat and drink WAY more alcohol than at home. I think there may be a diet book in here somewhere. We could make a fortune on "The Ukrainian Diet - Eat Your Way Thin with Sour Cream and Vodka".
