Carlos alleged that most asylum seekers are bogus and are responsible for setting up drug rackets in Britain.
Undoubtedly some asylum seekers are not fleeing persecution, but many are.
People like Mishou [1] and Anysie [2] who come to Britain, do not come here to be parasites, but to find safety from genuine threats to their lives.
Studies have shown that up to 25-30% of refugees in Scandanavia have experienced torture [3] and surely the same would be true in Britain.
Again, obviously some asylum seekers have broken the law, maybe even become prostitutes and drug dealers. But the majority are law abiding and want to start a new life free from fear. We have had crime in Britain for hundreds of years, and drug dealing did not all start in the past few years.
There are many well qualified doctors and other professionals that come to Britain as asylum seekers [4]. These people would be valuable to our country but are often prevented from working.
