: By "Ukrainian video players" I meant video players currently commonly available to purchase in Ukraine. For example, Phillips units are available which are produced to a good standard in Poland not "Asia".

: : They are all asian like everywhere. Those which made for former Soviet Union can work in different standarts.
: : : Most modern Ukrainian video players should play the UK PAL format as well as the US NTSC. You should not have a problem.

: : : : Hi...can anyone say if the typical VHS videos from the UK can be played on video players in the Ukraine ?

All movies are played fine on milti-system VSR even in Ukraine. PAL, both NTSC's and all other systems. Besides transcoding a movie from one system to another is a dime deal.
