The locals shop in outdoor markets. They are all over the city. As for food...it's great! Don't bother going to the fancy places, they're over priced and not very good.

: We are planning a trip to Kiev in August 2003. I want to know what to really expect. I mean beyond what the travel agent will tell us. When we go I want to eat & shop where locals shop. We are US citizens. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.
