Mario! I do not understand your comments of comparing Ukraine to the rest of western World - why should Ukraine look like or feel like any other place - may I suggest you visit USA or Germany, France etc if you want a 'western' feel about a place you are visiting!
: I am sure these comments will make some of you a bit angry and I will only comment on western Ukraine and down to southern (Odessa) Ukraine.
: It is difficult for me to understand the attraction to western Ukraine. Only small villages and cities that are still industrial age cities, dirty and grey. On the contrary the Carpathian Mountain area is beautiful. Kiev is a city with no real flavor. Still Soviet style grey concrete building with many monuments although the gold crowned churches are very beautiful.
: To me Odessa is the place to go. It feels more "western". The beaches are nice. Arcadia is unbelievable.
: OK....I might be a little biased since my wife is from odessa.
