I did this twice about two years ago, Jorge. First there was a guy in Sevastopol' named Aleksandr Shybanov who posted regularly on RWL. I emailed him the name of the person I wanted to find, and he emailed the phone number back. This is the way to go, given a choice.

The other time I was actually in Odessa and looking for the work number of a friend (I knew that she worked for a TV station in another town in central Ukraine). Another friend called all the TV stations in that town (there were four) and found my friend.

Many people will tell you that there are no phone books in Ukraine, but this isn't true. I actually used the Odessa phone book extensively when I was there.

: Is there any way to find telephone numbers in Ukraine knowing only the name of the person (maybe calling to some information telephone or by internet?), I need to find someone in Melitopol; language is not a problem. Thanks
