I highly recommend hiring a car and driver. But I would never pay $100 per day. I was in Kiev 2 years ago and rented a car and driver for $30 per day. It was a husband and wife combination. The husband drove and the wife acted as tour guide. She did not speak English, but knew what I would like to see. They saved me a lot of money by just knowing where to buy things at a fair price. This couple was great. I hired them for 5 days. I gave them a generous tip for taking such good care of me.
