Thanks for your reply. Plan to live in Kyiv if possible, we want to buy an apartment there. I already know a few words of Russian, learning Ukrainian would be difficult for me but I plan to if necessary. I am in Information Technology. As far as the inconveniences, like power outages, etc., I am aware of this (have been there twice, and my wife told me about it anyway). As far as paying more, I plan to keep my mouth shut and let my wife do the talking :)
: Phillip,
: Where do you plan on living? If you are going to live in the bigger cities like Kyiv or Lviv you will have a better time acclimating to Ukraine. It will be easier for you to find a job there. As far as finding a job, that depends on your line of work.
: It will help if you know the Ukrainian language, this will take you a long way in Ukraine.
: Be prepared for some minor inconveniances living in Ukraine such as regular power outages and having your heating shut off at certain times. Also be prepared to pay about two to three times more for anything that a Ukrainian would pay for, this a proven fact that non-ukrainians pay more.
