Ken, the best advise I could give you is USE commom sense as the others have stated below posts. I don't know where you are from, but I live in the US and travel to cities NY, Miami, Philly, LA, San Fran, Dallas...and the list goes on. Would you hang out in undesirable areas of these cities? Probably not! I always ask the hotel staff where "not to go". The locals can tell you where the undesirable areas are!
I am leaving in a couple of days as well. It will be my first time in Ukraine as well!

: I am visiting Ukraine soon. This is my first visit and I am concerned about safety in general. Please let me know how safe it is for foreigners to visit this Country. Any advise on precautions to be taken while travelling?
