I can understand your concerns after reading some of the nonsense concerning personal safty in Ukraine.
I have been in Ukraine 28 times and have escorted hundreds of people on group tours and I/we have never had to concern ourselves with our personal safety, but you must remember, no matter where you go in this world there are undesirables, so I simply suggest that you use common sense, the same as you would in your own home town.
Stay away from places that make you uncomfortable, do not flash your money and use care when going out alone at night, which is not recommended. Other than that the people of Ukraine, in general, will welcome you with open arms. Ukraine is a country where the hospitality is second to none.
Have fun!

: I am visiting Ukraine soon. This is my first visit and I am concerned about safety in general. Please let me know how safe it is for foreigners to visit this Country. Any advise on precautions to be taken while travelling?
