Please don't believe the horror stories. Ukraine is very safe. I also disagree with the comments made below. I have been in Ikraine for the last 6 months and do not speak russian. I have not found or experianced Taxi-mafia. and I consider the trains (Metro and long distance inter-city) to also be safe. you do not need to travel first class. Infact the four bed coaches are great and a good way to meet locals. The only time you stand out is if you speak english loud. Of course people look that sam in the US if you hear someone speak French. Some of these scare tacits are designed to help sell selective services. Take note that only a few service providers are only recommended. Belive me there are many trustworth and better service providers than those promoted here. I am sure this post as with others will be removed. This is not an independant BB service....
: I am visiting Ukraine soon. This is my first visit and I am concerned about safety in general. Please let me know how safe it is for foreigners to visit this Country. Any advise on precautions to be taken while travelling?
