In Reply to: Train or buss from Kiev to Kharkov! posted by Sam on August 16, 2001 at 03:55:38:
Sergei gave a good reply, but I took the train in March and the station was under construction.
It was a very long train, a thousand people scrambling to get on in Kiev and there was mass confusion, dark, people falling down holes in the platform etc.
The train took off very quickly - I was glad I had some local friends with me to help
It was a great, fun time though.
Take some food, as your wagon mates will be sharing theirs, and vodka, with you.
There is a bar/food on the train but it might be a solid hike through nine or ten carriages to get to it.
