Visa's are not issued upon arrival in Ukraine. Period. Please be aware of that. Mind you you are not leaving until August 22nd, so you still have time.
When applying for a visa expect not to see it for at least a month. Expect that even though at time it can be sent to you within 2 weeks. It all depends on their workload. But whatever you do, do not attempt to enter Ukraine without a valid visa, it will not happen.

: I will be leaving for the Ukraine on Aug 22. I'm just concerned that if I may have problems getting my visa on time! I mailed it to the Ukraine Embassy in Ottawa. I was thorough in answering all questions, therefore I don't anticipate any delays. They said it takes 10 working days. Has anyone experienced delays in getting their passports returned for any reasons?

: What would happen if a person attempted to enter Ukraine without a visa? Has anyone experienced this? Would the authorities detain you? Can a person get a visa after you arrive?
