David these are good choices but many of tourist or traveler not afford these prices!
Yes you have to put up with nasty bathroom, many times no bathroom, days without the shower, but some of us to make that choice.
Some of us like to walk and take rides with people, different new people, some of us can take bus and trolly car. many people cannot afford $20 taxi ride.
It seems to me that you travel either this way or that way. You can travel the way of many, of most tourist, or can travel the other ways. like Max do.
