To Ukrainian authorities when you begin your departure to return to the US? If you present your Ukraine passport, then you have the possibility of a problem - especially if it contains evidence that you are now living abroad. If, on the other hand, you present a US-issued travel document that has a valid Ukraine visa in it (just like an American citizen would do), you will almost certainly have NO trouble.

The "re-entry permit" you reference is a document that only applies to your entry back into the United States.

Your bigger concern will be departing Ukraine without a hassle - FROM UKRAINIAN AUTHORITIES.

I suggest you use VIP service for your departure (from Boryspil??). It will cost you 330 Hryvna - but it will significantly diminish (though NOT eliminate) the likelihood you will have problems on departure.

: : I came to USA on K1 fiancee visa and I have married an American.I am going to have my interview to adjust my status to permanent conditional resident on June 22.After that I want to visit my family in Ukraine.I've heard that some green card holders have trouble exiting Ukraine. Please, advise me what I need to do to comply with Ukrainian Law.What documents will I need. Thank you.

: Thank you everybody for your responses,
: After reading endless websites, BBs, chatrooms I still don't know the right answer. The Embassy phone is always busy and they won't answer my E-mails. It seems esiest to go and return with a re-entry permit (Is re-entry permit the same as Advance parole?) with a Ukrainian VISA also. But I'm not sure. Does that seem right to everybody? I already have airplane tickets.
