: Is is not my intention to irritate anyone, especially the Ukrainians. However, I believe the Ukrainian language and the desire to preserve it through centuries of suppression has kept the langauge strong. The language is known for its rich folk character and traditional sounds. Making it official will just taint the language and bring even more foreign elements into the language; especially English words. I would like to see Ukrainian retain its character and ethnic richness. Afterall, that is why I chose to study it and not Russian.
Charles, you hit the nail right on the head. The English words Uktainian language has to use actually came from Latin. That language was by far more advanced then any other language in the world Maybe in the future Slavianic languages can replace those words, but who knows the future?Only peace and freedom will give them chance to work on the languages. At this time there are to many other problems to solve. The most important thing is to respact each other countries and their soereignty. Peace and freedom is the only future for world prosperity.Ukrainian language is very fine and beautiful language,it will take time for some peole to realize that and get know it.
