: : : Dear Charles,
: : : I absolutely agree with you. I think that the Ukrainian society does not consist of ethnic Ukrainians only. Ukrainian Russians, Ukrainian Jews, Ukrainian Tartars etc are 100% Ukrainian citizens, the same as Ukrainian Ukrainians, and therefore they have the right for any democratic changes they want in the Ukrainian society. It could be language, constitution or whatever.
: : : PS I've noticed that narrow-minded people are more vocal.
: :
: : You are completely right, Tartars, Judish, Russians are Ukrainian citizens. But if you want Russians make official, why we must offend Tartars or Judish?! Please, begin to study Judish, Havelok!
: I agree! My grandparents spoke German and Romanian, because we had German and Romanian villages near by. Yes, I know some words in Yiddish and Hebrew. What is wrong with that? More languages we know richer we become culturally.
: PS (It is Habelok. It is a Ukrainian word "габелок")
Yes, and you know how many languages I know. Ah, Polish too. Any problem. But all these language don't need to be official in Ukraine. The same - there are Ukrainian people in Poland, and you know that they aren't immigrants in Poland, and now they have a possibility to mantain their culture and language, but nobody want Ukrainian as oficial language in Poland.
