The breakup of the Soviet Union was a profound disaster because these nations(specifically, Russia,Ukraine,Belarus) experienced a dramatic decline in their economic fortunes.

Communism is simply a system in which a select few maintain their power and lifestyle by redistributing the wealth so nobody except the ruling leaders benefit . Communism accomplishes none of the goals you mentioned maybe you forgot all the unemployed Russians who had to stand in lines for hours to get toilet paper ? or maybe you are a leader of the Communist party and are pushing your agenda for personal gain .
