: Lesia,how can Ukrainian papers,media,books and magazines be more competitive that most people don't support.They rather read and listen in the language that was forced on them.Before they didn't have the choice,but now they do and still continue to do the same.I live in America,and I feel obligated to support American.I do also read Ukrainian papers listen to radio and support what ever concernce Ukraine,because I was born there.I visited Ukraine once and like to go there again,and I thought that the language was going to fall in place,after almost 9yrs.of independence.It seems very odd to me that it is still disputed in free country.It strange that the government has to step in this matter.In my thinking the government rules and people support, demand,watch and make sure that officials do their jobs whats beneficial for the people and country.And only unity of people will accomplish that.At this point I don't know if I am right or wrong.I am not against other laguages in the country or it should be forbidden to use them.But priority should be the official language of the country we live in to # one(1) Its only my opinion.Thank you very much,All.HAve a Goo Day.No title,just old man.Said my peace.
I think it is possible. I live in the country with one official language... and a number of another. This small languages try to do its media competitive. The TV programmes speak about things which happen in this provinces, there are a huge number of programmes to young people, etc. At this moment a people who isn't native from this province send its children in schools with the provincial language, because if they want to live in this province, it will be very important.
