There's almost no one alive today from the period of the famine. Any WWII veteran here will tell you it was a "Glorious" time for the USSR. The television media here is full of movies glorifing this time period. There is massive nostalgia for the good 'ole days here. Even a great Russian rock song called "Thank God I was born in the USSR".
