well those were indeed the good old days for the ones who survived the famine, the world wars, exile to siberia. To survive that hell while others lost and died means they were 'winners' many times over.

: 75 years is pretty much why, with the failure of the post Soviet governments to deliver any improvement in the standard of living here, a lot of people (especially older people) look with nostalgia to the "good old days"
